TTFN Day

So long. Good bye. See ya. There are many ways to part from someone. I like Tigger’s way best. He always said, “TTFN. Ta ta for now.” I’d like to hear that sentiment more often. It is a friendly way to say goodbye and also temporary.  It makes the promise that the leaving party will be back soon. (No, not a backson.)

So why not try it out. It makes me smile every time I hear it and anything that spreads happiness is a winner in my book. If you don’t feel comfortable saying it, and you don’t want to get into your orange-striped pajamas to get in the mood, then you could use it in your letters and e-mails. It is a sincere way to sign off to both family and friends. Happiness squared.

Goofy Trivia: Paul Winchell, the voice of Tigger, was born Pinkus Wilchinski, December 21, 1922.  He also voiced characters in the Disney movies The Aristocats and The Fox and the Hound. So I declare today Official TTFN Day. Say it often and say it proudly, and remember, “T-I-double”guh”-errrrr, that spells Tigger.”

  1. TTFN indeed!! Supposedly Winchell himself came up with that phrase for the Tigger character, through his wife who was English and always said “Ta-Ta-For-Now.”
