Snow White liked to sweep. Cinderella didn’t like to sweep but she did it anyway. What is it with Princesses and brooms? I am sweeping this weekend but I am not using a broom. That makes sense since I am not a princess. Instead I am sweeping out my project list to prepare my life for a big project that I am starting on Monday. This project is so big that if I don’t do some sweeping and cleaning up of my current list I’ll never have time to do this major project.
Sweeping up your projects every once in a while is a fun thing to do – think more Snow White than Cinderella. I list all the projects that are mostly done and just hanging around like dust bunnies. I then decide which projects I can push and finish in a short amount of time. I have about ten projects that are really close to being done. This weekend I am going to get out my virtual broom and sweep them into the completion dustbin. At the end of the weekend my list will be swept clean and I’ll have room for my big project.
It would be great if I have woodland animals to help me out, although if I remember Snow White they were more of a hindrance. Instead I have posted some quotes on my bulletin board to help keep me motivated. Walt Disney was great at getting projects out the door so I know he can inspire me to do the same. I hope your weekend is as productive as mine. Or you can ditch the broom like Cinderella did and just go to the ball. Happiness squared.
Goofy Quotes: Whenever my motivation weakens I’ll whistle while I work and read a good quote.
“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” Walt Disney
“Whatever you do, do it well. Do it so well that when people see you do it they will want to come back and see you do it again and they will want to bring others and show them how well you do what you do.” Walt Disney
“Everyone falls down. Getting back up is how you learn how to walk.” Walt Disney
