Ask a Cast Member

“What time is the 3:00 parade?”

Everyone hears about the weird questions that people ask employees. I worked retail for many years and have heard a ton of seemingly dumb questions. I also know that as a costumer I have asked a lot of seemingly dumb questions. But you know what? Questions are rarely dumb.

If you are hot, tired, and not even sure what park you are in don’t worry about whether your question is dumb. If you question will help get you back on track than it is worth asking. And who should you be asking? A Cast Member!

At the Disney parks the customers are called Guests and the employees are called Cast Members. Their job is to make sure you have the happiest experience possible. So, not only are they going to answer your seemingly dumb question, but they are going to make sure that you get all the information you need, even if you didn’t know you needed it.

WARNING * PERSONAL STORY* WARNING

I had read that there was a barber shop in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World. Now, I had been to the Magic Kingdom before and never seen it so I tried to find information about it on the internet. There was almost none and I was a little frustrated, because I wanted to get my hair cut there and I didn’t know when to plan it into our trip.

We were staying at Port Orleans Riverside and on a whim I asked a Cast Member who was standing in the lobby. He didn’t work at the Magic Kingdom and there was no reason that he should know the answers to my seemingly dumb questions, but he did. He actually used the barbershop himself and told me what to expect. So, instead of blindly heading over to the barbershop without any knowledge, I knew to get there early and to ask for pixie dust. It was a great experience, thanks to a Cast Member who was willing to answer my questions.

So don’t hesitate to ask a Cast Member a question. Happiness is sure to follow.

Goofy Tip: Want to see the 3:00 parade? Buy a drink or a snack and find a seat early. Don’t worry about being bored. The cast members come out and sing and dance while you wait. You can even join in!
