Well, the world has moved on from Iron Man 3 to Star Trek, but I cannot seem to get this movie out of my mind. It was so good and so bad in so many ways. Still, I really really want to go see the Iron Man exhibit at Disneyland (I am making tentative plans that I’ll discuss later) so I was thrilled to see an article about it in Disney Insider.
You can read the whole article here at the Disney Insider. Eight suits are on display, including the Mark 42. That’s the cool suit that attaches to Tony Stark in pieces. (I won’t say anything more in case you haven’t seen the movie, but this suit makes the movie really fun and really funny.) The suits weigh 40 to 60 pounds each which makes me glad that no one actually has to wear them. They would be really heavy to fly in. The exhibit is the same size as the room in the movie which should be great for picture taking. And my favorite part is that in 30 seconds I can be virtually wearing part of the suit. I don’t expect it to be exactly like the movie – they don’t call it movie magic for nothing – but it should still be amazing.
Whenever a princess movie comes out Disney brings them to the park. I don’t want Iron Man walking down Main Street, U.S.A. with Mickey Mouse, but it’s great that other characters are getting some park time in the right areas, and what is more fitting in Tomorrowland than Iron Man? Happiness squared.
Goofy Tip: If you have a ride you really want to go on, or an exhibit you really want to see, than plan to use Extra Magic Hours. Disneyland or Disney California Adventure (sometimes both) open an hour early for Guests staying on property, and other special ticket holders. Only certain parts of the park are open early, but you’ll be standing at rope drop when your area opens. I was once the fifth person on Indiana Jones Adventure and I didn’t run like the teenagers…much.
