My Treat for You: A Quote, a Recipe, and a Craft

Image from spoonful.com

Happy Halloween!!! I couldn’t pick just one item to write about so I am treating everyone with a classic quote from the Haunted Mansion, a delicious pumpkin recipe that would be wonderful even after Halloween, and a fun Halloween craft that kids can both make and play with. I hope everyone’s night is filled with just the right kind of spooky! Happiness squared.

A spooky quote courtesy of Madame Leota in the Haunted Mansion:

Horntoads and lizards, fiddle and strum. Please answer the role by beating a drum!
Ghost fiends and furies, old friends and new! Blow in a horn, so we’ll know whether it’s you!
Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat; call in the spirits, wherever they’re at.
Rap on a table; it’s time to respond. Send us a message from somewhere beyond.
Goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween. Awaken the spirits with your tambourine.
Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond; let there be music, from regions beyond!
Wizards and witches, wherever you dwell, give us a hint, by ringing a bell!

A fun printable for indoor play:

If your kids are bored on a rainy day print out Disney Villians Bowling Pins and enjoy an afternoon of fun. After the pins are assembled set them up and bowl them down using a small rubber ball or a ball of aluminum foil. For a greater challenge add some weight inside each pin so they don’t fall over as easy. Any number of games can be invented using these pins.

Goofy Tip: If you decide to wear a costume at the Disney parks, either because you are going to Mickey’s Halloween Party, or because you are visiting the parks on Halloween consider what your costume looks like.

  1. All costumes should be rated G.
  2. You don’t want your costume to make it hard to get on rides or sit down to eat.
  3. You can have a very elaborate or a very simple costume and have an equal amount of fun. Just be sure you’ll still love it after wearing it for hours in the park.
